How to read aloud fluently

If we read aloud, these are the criteria describing how to read fluently...

  • don't stop in the middle of sentences -  keep reading until you reach an appropriate punctuation mark
  • don't speak like a robot -  speak with expression (character)
  • don't mumble - speak clearly
  • if you get stuck or confused, reread the sentence or paragraph
  • don't be scared - speak with confidence (pretend if you have to)
  • speak with enough volume for others to hear, change the volume as appropriate
  • vary the pace with which you speak.  Sometimes you need to be quicker or slower, depending on the text
  • change the tone of your voice, depending on the topic
